Guests can watch the artist at work, interact with them, and even make suggestions for what they would like to be included in their illustration. In this blog post, we’ll discuss the different types of live artists available in the UK. There’s no significant differences between them except for the mediums they use and the style of their work.

Types of Live Artists at Weddings and Events in the UK

  1. Live Wedding Painters

Live wedding painters create beautiful, unique pieces of art that capture the special moments of your big day. They attend your wedding and work on canvas, using acrylic or oil paints to create stunning pieces that you can cherish for a lifetime. Although more popular in the USA, live wedding painting on canvas is also becoming more available in the UK. A live wedding painter might also chose to paint in watercolour.

  1. Live Event Artists

Live event artists create art at any event, not just weddings. They work on canvas or paper, using a variety of mediums such as watercolors, markers, or pastels. Their art can range from portraits of guests to abstract pieces that capture the mood and energy of the event. These artists might work at corporate events and functions to provide entertainment or brand awareness to the event.

  1. Live Event Illustrators

Same thing really. Live event illustrators create whimsical and playful illustrations of your event. Alternatively they might be employed in a more serious role to document an event.

They work on paper or digital tablets, using a range of techniques from simple line drawings to intricate watercolor paintings. These artists might also work at corporate events and functions to provide entertainment or brand awareness to the event.

  1. Live Wedding Illustrators

Live wedding illustrators create live illustrations at your wedding, just like live wedding painters. However, instead of painting on canvas, they work on paper or digital tablets using a variety of mediums such as markers, pencils, or watercolors. Their illustrations can range from portraits of the bride and groom to cute and quirky drawings of the wedding guests. They might illustrate documented scenes throughout the day.

  1. Live Wedding Artists

This term is more general and can refer to any artist who creates live art at a wedding. They may use any medium and style of art, from painting to illustration to sculpture.

Deciding on the Type of Live Art

Ultimately, the couple should decide what type of art they want created at their wedding. The only real differences between these artists are the mediums they use and the style of their work. Whether you choose a live wedding painter, live event artist, live event illustrator, live wedding illustrator, or live wedding artist, you’re sure to have a unique and unforgettable piece of art that captures the essence of your special day.

In conclusion, adding live art to your wedding or event is a great way to make it a day to remember. So go ahead and consider adding one of these talented artists to your big day!

How to write a good Father of the Bride Speech

As the father of the bride, giving a speech at your daughter’s wedding is a significant honor and responsibility. Your words have the power to set the tone for the entire event and will be remembered by your family and guests for years to come.

As a live wedding artist, I have attended a lot of wedding receptions. I have laughed and cried at many speeches.

To help you deliver a meaningful and memorable speech, here are four points I’ve notes to include in your father of the bride speech:

  1. Welcome and Acknowledge the Guests

Begin your speech by welcoming and acknowledging the guests. Thank them for coming and being a part of this special day. You can also recognize family members and friends who have traveled from far away to attend the wedding. This will create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, setting the stage for your heartfelt words.

  1. Share Personal Memories

Next, share personal memories of your daughter growing up. Talk about the special moments you shared, the milestones she achieved, and the lessons she taught you. This is an opportunity to reflect on the bond between you and your daughter and the love and pride you feel as her father. These memories will bring a smile to everyone’s faces and set a sentimental tone for the speech.

  1. Welcome the Groom

After sharing your memories, welcome your new son-in-law to the family. Express your happiness in gaining a new son and speak about the qualities that make him a great match for your daughter. This is also an opportunity to share a funny story or anecdote about how the couple met, or how you first met the groom. Be sure to convey your confidence in their future together.

  1. Offer Words of Wisdom and Best Wishes

Finally, offer your daughter and her new husband your words of wisdom and best wishes for their future together. You can share a quote or a piece of advice that has guided you through life or your own marriage. You can also offer congratulations and express your love and support for the couple. This is a great way to wrap up your speech and leave everyone feeling uplifted and inspired.

In conclusion, giving a father of the bride speech is a wonderful opportunity to express your love and pride for your daughter and welcome your new son-in-law into the family. By including these four points, you can deliver a heartfelt and memorable speech that will be cherished by everyone who hears it.

Having your dog attend your wedding day, or not?

Your wedding day is one of the most memorable days of your life, and it’s natural to want to share it with your loved ones – including your furry best friend.

Bringing your dog to your wedding in the UK is a growing trend, and it’s not hard to see why. Not only will your dog add a touch of charm and personality to your special day, but they are also a beloved member of your family, and it wouldn’t feel complete without them.

As a live wedding artist, I have encountered many (well behaved) dogs at weddings. I have even met a doggy daycare owner who specialises in wedding dog care. What an amazing job! She attends with the dogs to the drinks reception after wedding when the photos are being taken. The dogs in this instance were then taken away for the res5 of the day.

Some things to consider when bringing your dog to a wedding

Before you decide to bring your dog to your wedding, there are a few things to consider. First, make sure your venue is dog-friendly and that your guests are comfortable around dogs. You should also check with your wedding planner or venue coordinator to ensure that there are no restrictions or rules regarding pets.

It’s also important to make sure that your dog is well-trained and able to handle the chaos and excitement of a wedding. If your dog is not used to being around large crowds or loud noises, it may be best to leave them at home. You can have a close relative whom your dog is used to (like your brother) be responsible for your dog for the day.

If you do decide to bring your dog, make sure they have a designated handler to keep them calm and happy throughout the day.

What can my dog do at my wedding?

When it comes to your dog’s role in your wedding, there are plenty of options. Some couples choose to have their dog serve as the ring bearer or flower girl, while others prefer to have them walk down the aisle with the bride or groom. Whatever role you choose, make sure it’s something that your dog is comfortable with and trained for.

Finally, don’t forget to plan for your dog’s comfort and wellbeing throughout the day. Make sure they have plenty of water, food, and a comfortable place to rest. You should also have someone designated to take care of your dog’s needs, such as taking them for a walk or letting them outside.

In conclusion, bringing your dog to your wedding day in the UK can be a wonderful experience for both you and your furry friend. However, it’s important to consider the logistics and make sure that your dog is comfortable and well-behaved throughout the day. With careful planning and preparation, your dog can play a special role in your wedding and make your day even more memorable.

5 unique ideas for wedding entertainment

5 unique ideas for wedding entertainment

Introduction

You’ve probably heard the phrase “wedding entertainment is everything.” Well, it’s true. You can have an amazing venue and wedding dress, but if your drinks reception entertainment doesn’t relax your guests and set the tone for the rest of the evening, then it can all go a bit pear shaped. So how do you find someone who’s perfect for your big day?

As a live wedding artist, I have seen many wonderful types of entertainment at weddings. I have rounded up some ideas for you!

It might be time to think outside the box

You should also consider what you want from a wedding entertainer. Do you have a specific type of act in mind? Would you like musical or non- musical. If so, are there any acts that are already booked for the same time slot?

If not, do some research on different types of entertainment and artists who could fit your needs. Once you’ve found something that seems like it would work well for your wedding day, reach out to them directly and ask them about their availability for your date as well as their pricing structure (if applicable).

If you’re looking for a non-musical act, here are some common options: – A live wedding painter can create a scene of your special day and wow your guests as the painting unfolds during the reception. They can also produce guest portraits of each of your guests to take home as a memoir.

Or how about traditional lawn games if your venue has an outside area?

The right entertainment can help set the tone for your wedding

The right entertainment can help set the tone for your wedding.

Weddings are a celebration of love, and they’re also about life: what you want it to be like going forward with your spouse. That’s why picking an appropriate theme is so important–it helps guide all of your other decisions about what kind of wedding you want to throw, from food to flowers to decor. It even influences which bands or DJs will be able to play at your reception venue!

Many couples choose their favorite band or DJ based on their musical style alone–but if you want something more than just music (or if there isn’t enough room), consider hiring some performers who add another dimension to the festivities.

Consider what you want from a wedding entertainer.

When you’re planning your wedding, it’s important to consider what kind of entertainment you want. Do you want someone who can sing and play guitar? Is a DJ more appropriate for the type of music that will be played at your reception? Then there are other options like a straying quarter or saxophonist. How much do you want to spend on this entertainment?

Another important factor when choosing which type of wedding entertainment is whether or not it fits within your budget.

Additionally, take into account any other services they offer, as well as any special requests such as travel costs associated with bringing people out from another town etc..

Conclusion

Whether you’re looking for something fun and interactive or something more traditional and elegant, there are plenty of options out there. Just remember to think about what kind of atmosphere you want at your wedding and what type of entertainment best fits that.

As a live wedding artist, I have seen many wonderful types of entertainment at weddings. If your would like to book me as a live artist for your wedding in the UK, please see my website below.

Enjoy your day when it comes.

5 things not to forget on the day of your daughters wedding

5 things not to forget on the day of your daughters wedding

Congratulations on your daughter’s wedding.

The day of the wedding is going to be a hectic one. You’re going to have so much on your plate that you may forget some things.

As a live wedding artist, I have a good few weddings under my belt and I get to see wha happens behind the scenes . I’ve also learned to carry an emergency bag…just for those little nuances.

Well, it’s time to start making a list for you of what not to forget on this very special day! Here are 5 examples.

Your camera

You don’t want to forget your camera on the day of your daughter’s wedding. There are so many things that could go wrong, and it’s always better to be safe than sorry. Here are some tips for remembering everything you need:

  • Bring a charger and memory card (or two). You might not be able to take pictures mid-ceremony but you will for sure be snap happy during the reception. And don’t forget extra batteries in case one dies while taking pictures at the reception later in the evening.
  • Make sure all lenses are attached securely before leaving home–you don’t want them falling off while traveling! If there are any filters or other accessories that need attaching onto lenses, now is probably as good a time as any since we’ve covered most major pieces of equipment already anyway…

Your phone charger

You’re going to be on your phone a lot. You’re going to take pictures, send texts and emails, maybe even FaceTime calls to relatives who couldn’t attend. You need to make sure that your phone battery doesn’t run out while all of this is happening!

  • Bring your charger with you on the day of
  • Don’t forget to bring it with you in case of emergencies like forgetting where your car keys are or getting locked out of your hotel room (or both).
  • Make sure that there’s enough room for all three pieces – phone charger + cable + wall socket adapter – so that nothing gets lost or separated from each other during transport

Something to wear if it gets cold

As a wedding artist in Scotland, I know how the temperament can drop after hours. A sweater or cardigan is a must-have item. If it’s cold, you might need to wear a jacket as well. You don’t want to be shivering in the photos or looking uncomfortable because of how cold it is outside!

The right shoes!

  • Wear comfortable shoes.
  • wear heels for the ceremony and photos, but they’ll make your feet hurt and you’ll probably fall over at the most inopportune time after a few glasses of wine.
  • Don’t wear flats that could hurt your feet either; flip flops are a no-no unless you want to look like an idiot when they’re wet or dirty (or both).
  • Make sure they match your outfit! If it’s going to be hot outside, consider wearing some fancy sandals .And if it’s cold out? Well then maybe get some long boots instead of sandals…. just saying 😉

Your list. Don’t forget anything!

The day of your daughter’s wedding is a whirlwind of emotions, and it can be easy to forget things in the excitement. Don’t! You want to make sure that on this day, you don’t forget anything–especially those things that will make her feel loved and appreciated.

To help keep track of all the details, consider writing down a list of things that need doing before the ceremony begins. This way, if something does slip through the cracks (and it probably will), at least there’s something written down as proof that it was supposed to be done by someone else who didn’t do their part!

Conclusion

I hope this article has helped you to avoid some common mistakes, and that your daughter’s wedding day goes as smoothly as possible. With the right preparation and a little bit of luck, everything should go off without any hitches! You can book me as a live wedding artist to add something extra to your daughter’s day.
