FAQs

Do you take bookings Uk wide?

I’m based in Fife and anywhere within a 2 hour drive from Fife is great. Venues further away will incur a travel extra at £0.45/ mile. I’ll consider further away places such as South England or London if plenty notice is given and accommodation is covered also . Weddings often finish late into the evening.

Do you work from photos?

Yes you will see me at the event taking photos to capture key moments like the first dance. I also use photos to have a good reference for facial features . I have the option of creating a studio painting from your wedding photos if you would prefer the studio only package.

How does it work on the day ?

I’ll arrive 1 hour before the event so I can setup my equipment and familiarise myself with the venue. I’ll start painting the structure of the painting – let’s call it your lovescape!
As the time unfolds , I can add in guests and decide what part of the day/ night is going to be represented in your painting.

What’s required to book my wedding painting package ?

Email me with your enquiry and the date / venue etc… I will check the details and let you know if I’m available . I will then email you confirmation and an invoice. With wedding I work on a 50/50 basis, 50% to secure the date in my diary and then the balance either on the day or within a week of the wedding itself.

How soon should I book?

The demand for live event painting is high and I can only be in one place at one time and may have to travel over the weekend , so I always recommend you book as soon as you know your wedding date!

What equipment do you use?

I’ll bring with my my easle , art box and a light. I just need some water and a plug socket and we’re good to go! All my art supplies are high quality Windsor & Newton or Daler Romney and the canvas’ I use are solid heavy Windsor & Newton stretched cotton canvas. If you’ve asked me to do a watercolour painting , I use heavy 300gsm paper.

Is the canvas framed ?

The painting will come ready to hang unframed . You can either hang it straight to the wall or fit a custom frame to it at a later date .
